Grimsby Fishing Heratige Centre

Our supportive neighbour, the Grimsby Fishing Heritage Centre is a multi-award-winning attraction that offers a captivating journey into the town’s rich maritime past. Grimsby, once the World’s Premier Fishing Port, saw rapid growth when the railways connected it to London’s fish markets in 1848, making fresh fish available nationwide and contributing to the rise of the iconic dish, fish and chips. The Centre recreates the atmosphere of the 1950s fishing industry through immersive exhibits and authentic trawler interiors, allowing visitors to step back in time and experience the lives of those who worked in one of the most dangerous occupations of the era.
